Career Quest Success Stories - Christopher Carrigan, IT

We love sharing our student's success stories, keep reading to hear about Christopher's IT Career Success Story.

 

Christopher Carrigan started taking classes in March of 2011 at Career Quest Learning Centers in the (IT) Information Technology Professional program. After working twelve plus years providing customer service in the auto Industry, he wanted to change career fields. Christopher was looking for the opportunity to get into a field where he could grow and develop as a professional and provide for his family.

After starting his training program it was evident that Christopher was dedicated to his studies. He excelled in his coursework and was eager to learn all things IT. Shortly before graduating in December 2011, he opened a Computer Consulting and Repair Store; Lost Creek Computer Solutions in Potterville, Michigan. As Owner Operator and Lead Repair Technician, he has found working in the IT Field very rewarding. Providing quality customer service he has expanded his customer base and is looking forward to the continued growth of his business.

Like with his studies, Christopher was very dedicated to his job search. He took advantage of Career Services and their resources, attended workshops, networking groups and utilized LinkedIn for networking.

Shortly after graduation Christopher’s hard work paid off. Early in January he interviewed and was hired at NuWave Technology Partners part time as an Intern providing Help Desk Support. “After an hour and a half Interview, I felt confident that I would be offered the position” Christopher stated. Now he loves working at NuWave and is currently working on completing his IT; A+ certifications. He enjoys the fact he can apply his training in real life and that his position with NuWave allows him to continue to develop his IT business on the side.
