WHEN TO SEND ONLINE JOB APPLICATIONS?

Not the Weekend, says recruiter and blogger Gavin Redelman of recruitingblogs.com.

Most employers work a regular Monday – Friday schedule. Ping them with your sharp cover letter and resume when they are more likely to be at their desk, not on Saturday night.
If you send materials by email on Friday or Saturday, you compete with all the spam email an employer must wade through arriving on Monday morning to a full email box.
If you do need to use the weekend time, says Redelman, fine-tune your resume and cover letter but wait to email them until with late Sunday night. That way, you get a shot at being viewed first thing on a Monday morning.

Just remember, what you say is important but it also matters When you say it.
